Practice Areas: Claudia, partner and head of the Environmental Law Department in the Firm. With ample experience in environmental management at all the environmental fields from policy definition to rulemaking at all legal levels, including dispute resolution before authorities and among private parties. Also expert in structuring environmental strategies for projects that might have environmental impacts.
Training: Lawyer (JD) from Universidad de Los Andes in Colombia. Before joining the Firm, she was Vice minister of Water and Sanitation at the Ministry of Environment, Housing and Territorial Development; Vice minister of Environment at the same Ministry; Deputy Superintendent for Water and Sanitation at the Superintendence of Public Utilities, as well as member to the Board of the Environmental Regional Authority (CAR). She has been legal consultant in environmental affairs to the National Planning Department and the United Nations Environmental Program and also Chair of the Inter-American Association of Environmental Defense – AIDA.

-Author of the chapter about the legal defense of the environment in Colombia in the book called “Construcción y Defensa de los Nuevos Derechos Ambientales, Culturales y Colectivos en América Latina. Serie Foros y Debates Ambientales. PNUMA.” –Construction and Defense of the New Environmental, Cultural and Collective Rights.
