Chris M. Saternus attended DePaul University and received the B.S.C. in Accountancy in 1972. He became a C.P.A. in 1973. After a brief time out for military service, Mr. Saternus attended DePaul University College of Law, graduating in 1977. After law school, he began his career in public accounting, becoming a partner in the Tax Division of Arthur Andersen & Co. in 1988.

During his time in public accounting, he specialized in tax planning and consulting for closely held businesses and their owners and in partnership taxation for tax shelters. He left public accounting in 1991 and began his law career at the Chicago office of Hill Gilstrap. In 1996, he joined the law firm of Robinson, Plymert, Piercey in Hoffman Estates. He is now a sole practitioner and of counsel with Kozacky & Weitzel, P.C. and practices in the areas of business transactions, tax and estate planning, accountancy and real estate.
