Caroline Bérubé is the Managing Partner of HJM Asia Law & Co LLC which has offices in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Singapore. She specializes in all aspects of Chinese corporate law and commercial practice, including in relation to mergers and acquisitions and intellectual property. Caroline Bérubé is especially well-regarded for advising clients on the appropriate Asian company structures, based on her comprehensive understanding of the pitfalls and advantages of most Asian jurisdictions. Caroline Bérubé has advised clients in various industries such as manufacturing, energy (oil, gas and mining), technology and services.

Prior to founding HJM Asia Law & Co LLC, Caroline Bérubé was a partner in the foreign advisory section of a Guangzhou-based law firm, where she built up a well respected level of expertise on Chinese corporate law and advised many European, Asian and North American clients. Caroline Bérubé began her legal career in French and British law firms in Singapore where she represented international corporate clients and banks in asset financing, mergers and acquisitions and cross-border transactions.

Due to her longstanding expertise and experience gained from practicing in Asia for more than 12 years, Caroline Bérubé has been featured in numerous magazines and newspaper articles, including La Presse, L’Actualité, Revue PME and Affaires Plus. Caroline Bérubé is also a regular speaker at international conferences worldwide (including conferences held in Milan, Montreal, Shenzhen, Lisbon, Guangzhou and Shanghai) and has spoken on various topics relating to business and law in Asia, including Chinese business rules and pitfalls, the protection of IP rights in China, mergers and acquisitions, and business immigration in Asia.
