Carl A. Formicola, Esq.

Carl Formicola specializes in the defense and trial of medical malpractice and general liability matters.  His prior experience includes the defense and prosecution of first party insurance cases, as well as the representation of defendants in the fields of admiralty law, ERISA and labor law.

Prior to joining Lewis Johs, Carl was a partner and trial attorney in a medical malpractice/personal injury defense firm.  He has numerous reported verdicts in State and Federal Court and extensive appellate experience.

Carl was admitted to practice in the State of New York in 1981 and in the District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York that same year.  In 1982, Carl was admitted to practice before the United States Court of International Trade.  In 2001 he was admitted to the Bar of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Carl received his Juris Doctor degree cum laude from Tulane University School of Law in 1980.  He was awarded a Bachelor of Arts from Fairfield University in 1976.

Carl is fluent in French and reads Spanish and Italian.
