Alex B. Cash is an experienced trial attorney who has concentrated his practice in family court. He is one of the senior partners at Rosen, Rosen & Hagood, LLC, in Charleston, South Carolina. Highly active in the state's community of trial attorneys, Alex was elected to serve as President for the South Carolina Association of Justice (SCAJ) during 2016-2017. He has been a guest lecturer at the Charleston School of Law for lectures involving family law topics, and has also been a speaker at numerous continuing legal education seminars. Alex has tried cases in practically every forum in South Carolina, including federal court, common pleas, family court and probate court. He has served on the Board of Governors for SCAJ for many years, and is also a member of the Charleston County Bar, South Carolina Bar, American Bar Association, and Southern Trial Lawyers Association. Alex was previously nominated by his peers and became a member of the National Trial Lawyers “Top 100 Trial Lawyers” in South Carolina (2008-present). He was also nominated by his peers and became a member of the National Association of Distinguished Counsel “Top One Percent” in 2015. Alex graduated from the University of North Carolina Law School in 1991.

Personal Information:

Alex was originally born in Winston-Salem, NC on June 27, 1961. He has been married for over 22 years to Sarah Cash, and they have two children. They are members of the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church.

Background:

Alex B. Cash, a North Carolina native, received his law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1991. Alex is an equity member of Rosen, Rosen & Hagood. He concentrates his law practice in representing individual clients in the areas of family law and divorce, and personal injury.

Alex has tried cases for clients in practically all of the various forums available in South Carolina, including but not limited to, the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, the South Carolina Court of Common Pleas, the South Carolina Family Court, the South Carolina Probate Court, Magistrates Court, and a variety of administrative hearing forums. He has represented clients in appeals to the South Carolina Court of Appeals and the South Carolina Supreme Court. He has also been a speaker at a variety of continuing legal education seminars, including a wide range of family law matters.

Alex graduated magna cum laude from Florida State University in 1983, and received a Master of Music with Distinction from Indiana University in 1985. Prior to attending law school, he performed as a professional musician with numerous orchestras across the country and has worked as a freelance musician in New York City. He was also a prior faculty member at the North Carolina Governor's School and an adjunct instructor at the College of Charleston. Locally, Alex has performed with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and with the Spoleto Festival Orchestra. He also free-lances with various jazz groups in the area.
