Career:
Joined as an associate Bustamante & Bustamante in February 2000, after spending 18 months working on the Ecuadorian government, first as Coordinator of the Office of the Ministry of Government and Police, and then as Coordinator of the Office of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit. Since joining Bustamante & Bustamante in 2000, has worked with several multinational companies in the area of mining, hydrocarbons and customs, among others.
In May 2002, was assigned to lead the legal department of AEC Ecuador Ltd., a subsidiary of EnCana Corporation, Canadian company that holds several exploration concessions and exploitation of hydrocarbons in Ecuador.
Since 2003, has been closely involved in international arbitration initiated by EnCana Corporation against the State of Ecuador (Case No. UN3481 – UNCITRAL, London Court of Arbitration) for approximately $ 100 million.
